A $12 charge for a hike might seem steep but it’s not so bad when you consider the reason. This land is owned by the Agua Caliente Band of the Cahuilla Indians.

There were people loitering, littering, and filling the area around the waterfall with graffiti until they decided to clean it up and close it to the public.

They now charge for access which keeps it clean and pristine as nature intended.
