Where do the rich and famous live in Los Angeles? Everybody knows about the wealthy areas of Beverly Hills, Malibu and the Pacific Palisades.

But a slower suburban paradise tucked away in the San Fernando Valley has become one of the most attractive places to live for Television and movie stars, pop idols, Influencers and Reality TV personalities.

Calabasas has become a neighborhood hideaway for the rich and famous. But even if you don’t have 7 figures in your bank account you can still enjoy a day hanging out in Calabasas.

This popular area throws some of the best neighborhood events, block parties and festivals.

It’s also of course a great place for spotting the celebrities who call it home.

 


1 – The Commons

Description:

Much more than a shopping center, The Commons is full of high end retail stores, great restaurants and entertainment choices.  Perfect for celebrity spotting, people watching and meet interesting people.

The Commons attracts crowds of a variety of neighborhoods including Malibu, Thousand Oaks, Calabasas, Sherman Oaks and more.

You can think of it like a more low key version of the popular Grove shopping center in the heart of Los Angeles.

It’s very popular with local residents and also family friendly.  It even offers kids club with music and entertainment every Tuesday.

2 – Malibu Creek State Park

This amazing place is not only popular for its great hiking trails and views of the Santa Monica mountains but also for spotting celebrities who live close by looking for some exercise with an outdoor hike.

Malibu Creek State Park seems to have it all with hiking, fishing, bird watching, mountain biking, rock climbing and even horseback riding opportunities.

5 – King Gillette Ranch

King Gillette Ranch

Description:

With its remarkable architecture, beautiful surroundings with great views and also great for hiking, this place is visited by plenty locals and outsiders.  A total of 588 acre property , available to the public to enjoy all the historical, archaeological and cultural resources.

Take great pictures around the ponds or in of the bridges.  This is a popular place also among celebrities who often come for the special family events that take place on the grounds.

King Gillette Ranch is pretty cool to visit anytime but make sure you put their signature annual event on your LA Bucket list. It is their Halloween celebration called ‘Night of the Jack’. The beautiful property is all lit up with lights and jack ‘o lanterns.

It is also an extremely popular family event for the celebrities who live in Calabasas and Malibu so you are likely to have some interesting people watching if you are lucky.
