From glowing mazes to bouncy orbs, every corner of Let’s Fly is designed to awaken your senses. You and your kids can wander through Cyril Lancelin’s luminous labyrinth, bounce alongside MOTOREFISICO’s vibrant spheres, and take in Sasha Frolova’s kaleidoscopic fountain — all part of a multisensory world that’s meant to be touched, explored, and enjoyed.

With installations from Pop Air to Emotionair, Euphoria, and more, this exhibit blends creativity, color, and freedom in a way that captures imaginations of all ages.

2 – Butterfly Exhibits

Natural History Museum

A great activity to do with kids in LA is visiting the butterfly exhibits! You’ve got to check out the Butterfly Season exhibit at Kidspace Children’s Museum in Pasadena, running now through May 18th.

This enchanting experience features a kaleidoscope of butterflies fluttering through the gardens and is packed with kid-friendly activities like Create a Caterpillar, Los Trompos spinning tops, whimsical Fantasy Flutterby Play, and delightful Flower Showers.

One of the sweetest parts? Kids can even take home a little friend through Live Caterpillar Adoptions! Best of all, this entire exhibit is included with general admission—so no extra planning stress.

For even more butterfly magic, take a trip to the Butterfly Pavilion at the Natural History Museum.  This outdoor experience features up to 30 different species flying freely around you—including California natives like the elegant Mourning Cloak.

It’s a great way to help kids connect with nature and learn about pollinators up close. Note that this exhibit is ticketed separately from general admission and is sold in 30-minute time slots, so be sure to reserve your spot in advance.

3 – LA Historic Park Kite Fest

Mark your calendars, LA families — the 5th Annual Community & Unity People’s Kite Festival is soaring back into town! Happening Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Los Angeles State Historic Park, this free, all-ages event is the perfect way to kick off spring with color, creativity, and community spirit.

Whether your kids are seasoned kite flyers or just excited to run around with one for the first time, this festival is all about joyful connection in one of LA’s most popular public green spaces.
