1.  Take Some Pics and Make a Picnic at El Matador State Beach

description:

El Matador Beach is a secluded stretch of sand, sea caves, rocky shores, flying birds and rolling waves in breathtakingly beautiful Malibu.

You can’t miss the giant rocks on the beach of el Matador, that makes for stunning Instaworthy pictures.

Pack a picnic so you stay awhile and soak up this magnificent beauty for as long as possible with your significant other.

Like most beaches in Southern California parking here is a bit of a challenge, no surprises there, but what makes it especially difficult at this beach is that the lot is tiny.

Also, bathrooms are up near the parking lot, you may want to use them before you head down the steep stairs for your stroll on this amazing beach.

Whether you want to capture selfies for the Gram or beautiful landscapes for your screensaver, El Matador is one of those spots you can’t leave without taking some pictures.

Unfortunately, most other people do the same thing and you may find it busy with other amateur photogs and influencer wannabes.

Your best bet to capture the beauty on film without so much competition is to get there nice and early while it’s still serene and peaceful.

2.  Show Your Love For Your Date and LA @ The OUE SkySpace

The OUE Skyspace is an open air 360 degrees observation terrace, where you and your date will spot The Hollywood Sign and other landmarks.

The views of the city from here are fantastic and it makes a very romantic choice for you to snuggle up with your honey in the evening.

The views, the sunset, the cocktails, and even the fully enclosed glass slide offers a date full of romance and fun!

3.  Take A Sunset Walk on the Santa Monica Pier

How did one of the most touristy spots in all of Los Angeles make our most romantic list?

Because even with all the noise, crowds, and traffic, the Santa Monica Pier is one of the most beautiful and iconic landmarks in all of Los Angeles.

Wildflowers, ocean views, street performers, dining choices from classic to award-winning restaurants, shopping on the Promenade and more, is what you’ll find with a romantic walk in Santa Monica.

And you can finish that walk right on the world famous Santa Monica Pier, holding hands and staring out into that beautiful Pacific Ocean.

As an extra Santa Monica Pier date idea, you can rent bikes and ride on the famous Santa Monica bike path. Casually cruise the miles of bike path between Venice and Santa Monica.

What makes this bike path so special? Well for one, being just a few feet from the sand, you only need to look over your shoulder to see the breathtaking views the Pacific Ocean by your side the whole way.

4.  Grab Cocktails at the Romantic Culver Hotel

description:

The Culver Hotel in Downtown Culver City is a gorgeous boutique hotel that has a fascinating history to match.  The Culver City landmark was opened in 1924 by none other than the person the city was founded by and named after Harry H. Culver.

The elegant hotel is the centerpiece of downtown Culver City, a wedge-shaped Renaissance revival-style beauty, fashioned with sculpted stone, brick, ornate overhanging eaves, and 200 magnificent windows.

Keeping much of the fashionable elegance of its past it makes for a romantic setting for those looking for an intimate night out of cocktails with that special someone.

When the evening sets in, the hotel’s Grand Lobby transforms into a jazzy supper club, 7 nights a week. Vintage armchairs, classic movie projections and talented musicians each play a part in the carefully orchestrated ambiance, setting the stage for a wonderful evening of handcrafted cocktails, amazing music and of course romance.

Location:

9400 Culver Blvd, Culver City 90232

If you go to Downtown Culver City, you cannot miss the Culver Hotel. Its the gateway and the centerpiece for the few blocks of restaurants and bars that line either side of the downtowns main strip.

The Grand Lobby where the live Jazz music takes place gets most of the attention. However, if you are looking for a more intimate spot you may want to check out the little known upscale bar located on the next level of the Culver Hotel called the Velvet Lounge.

The speakeasy-inspired bar is an awesome spot if you want to trade the loud Jazz music downstairs for more intimate quiet conversation upstairs.

5. Picnic at Lake Hollywood Park

A picnic is always a great choice for a romantic, intimate date. And we have so many great parks to choose from, with beautiful views, colorful flowers, romantic walks.

Picnics are a great choice for Valentine’s romantic date not only because you have the freedom to pack your own food and wine, but it also makes a less expensive choice and a way to avoid a long wait at a crowded venue.

We recommend Lake Hollywood Park where you can picnic under the shadow of the world famous Hollywood Sign.  It also has a great view of the city.

It is a very dog-friendly park, so go ahead and celebrate Valentine’s date with your dog too!
