The List of Most Positive Murals in Los Angeles for 2020

It is evident that the year 2020 has been one of the most challenging ones -to say the least-  for us all, but thankfully spirited Angelenos have kept their optimism and shared their positive vibes in the form of beautiful murals for everyone to see.

Fill your heart with the positive messages displayed around the city in the form of beautiful murals made by local artists with our list of positive murals for you to check out.

1 – Stay Safe, Venice Beach

Description:

Some local street art has turned its focus and creativity towards sending messages of hope to those who are afflicted by the darkness found in the news, permanently closed business signs, and the stress of dealing with a pandemic.

This is the case with this beautifully painted mural on the sands of Venice Beach.

Street artist Pony Wave created this amazing mural, speaking the language of love in the time of the Coronavirus.

Spectators can appreciate this kissing as an inspiration and a reminder perhaps, to show love for others by wearing a mask.

2 – Love, The Bloc

Description:

Artist, muralist, and activist, Ruben Rojas has made his mark in Los Angeles and is delighting his fans once again with one of his latest creations.

This beautiful piece is his signature love logo as a  giant 3D work on display at The Bloc in DTLA.

Ruben Rojas inspires communities to live through love and he has filled walls all over the city with vibrant reminders to dream big, feel beautiful, and always do it with lots of love.

We interview Ruben on our podcast. If you want to know more about what motivates this LA-based artist click here to listen.

3 – Rainbow Wall, Melrose

Description:

This is a peace and love rainbow mural located in Melrose right next to the vintage shop Paper Bag Princess, and across the street from Made in LA wall.   It has several hand-crocheted rainbows and a giant peace sign.

Now this one did not pop after the pandemic and has been around for quite some time but we had to add it because it’s one of our favorite simple but positive outdoor art pieces in the city.

Next time you are strolling around Melrose, remember to stop and catch a few pictures with this super popular mural.  It’s not just Instagrammers who love this spot, as it’s also popular with kids who love the colorful rainbows.

4 – Angel Wings, Grammy Museum

Description:

This amazing project created in LA by visual artist and performer Colette Miller has inspired many people since it first began in 2012.  Her vision of reminding humanity that we are the angels of this earth has touched the lives of many and it continues to do so, especially right now with all that is happening.

Now her wings can be found in several places around LA including Westwood, West Hollywood, Hermosa Beach, Studio City, Glendale, Malibu, and of course the Arts District.

Colette project became so popular in Los Angeles she has also painted wings abroad in Kenya, Australia, Japan, Dubai, Taiwan, and more.

Out of her many murals in LA, we selected the Angel Wings outside the Grammy Museum. They are accessed outside the doors and the colorful style will make great pics for your collection.

Although we love the Grammy edition, as we mentioned before, they are all around the city each with their slightly unique differences.

Perhaps you may want to take a self-tour and snap a pic with them all!

5 – Make Your Mark, Arts District

Description:

Of course, we can’t end this list without an entry from the neighborhood with the most Instagrammable murals and that is the downtown Arts District.  There are so many murals to choose from and many of them with great positive messages.

We love this one from popular artist WRDSMTH who is well known for his many murals with positive messages.

You can enjoy your walk, take in the positive and inspiring words, and get some inspiration from artists who add colorful, amazing designs to your selfies or group pictures.

This particular piece can be found on the wall of Urban Radish grocery store and you can find the exact address below.
