February brings a fresh wave of energy to the City of Angels, even as winter continues. From cultural festivals and major sporting events to art fairs and immersive experiences, Los Angeles comes alive this month with a diverse lineup of things to do.

1 – NBA All Star weekend

Description:

Los Angeles takes center court from February 12–15, as the city once again hosts NBA All-Star Weekend, bringing four days of elite basketball, celebrity appearances, and fan-driven events to multiple venues across LA.

The headline event, the 75th NBA All-Star Game, will be played on Sunday, February 15 at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, marking the first All-Star Game hosted at the Clippers’ new arena.

Tipoff is scheduled for 2:00 PM PT, and the game will debut in a USA vs. World format, showcasing the league’s top American players against international stars in a global showdown.

The weekend’s basketball action unfolds across Friday and Saturday with a packed lineup of marquee events. On Friday, February 13, fans can catch the Castrol Rising Stars Game at the Intuit Dome, highlighting the NBA’s brightest young talent, while the Ruffles NBA All-Star Celebrity Game takes place at the Kia Forum, bringing athletes, entertainers, and influencers together for a high-energy crowd favorite.

That same day also features the NBA x HBCU Classic, celebrating collegiate basketball and culture. On Saturday, February 14, the spotlight returns to the Intuit Dome for NBA All-Star Saturday Night, featuring the Skills Challenge, 3 Point Contest, and Slam Dunk Contest – one of the most anticipated nights of the entire weekend.

Beyond the games, All-Star Weekend spills into downtown LA with immersive fan experiences and live entertainment. From February 12-15, the NBA Crossover fan festival takes over the Los Angeles Convention Center, offering more than 300,000 square feet of interactive basketball activations, brand pop-ups, merchandise, food, and photo opportunities.

The experience also includes a live concert series, with Ludacris, Shaboozey, and Cortis confirmed as headlining performers, making NBA All-Star Weekend one of the biggest cultural highlights happening in Los Angeles this February.

3 – Lunar New Year Celebrations

Description:

Lunar New Year in LA is a vibrant celebration of culture, community, and new beginnings that spans multiple weeks and events across LA. 

The city hosts a wide array of cultural festivities, performances, and family-friendly events as part of the Citywide Lunar New Year Celebration embracing Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, and other Asian traditions throughout LA.

One of the most anticipated highlights of the season is Lunar New Year at Disneyland Resort, running from January 23 – February 22, at Disney California Adventure Park. Here, magical Disney characters take on festive flair with special Lunar New Year costumes, themed food offerings, and joyful entertainment that blends the spirit of the Year of the Horse with beloved Disney fun. 

For an unforgettable local experience at the heart of LA’s cultural celebrations, make your way to Chinatown on Saturday, February 21 for the 127th Annual Golden Dragon Parade. This dazzling procession, complete with fiery dragon dancers, marching bands, colorful floats, lion dancers, and performers of all ages, draws tens of thousands of spectators to cheer and capture the excitement firsthand.

More events include The Port of Los Angeles Lunar New Year Celebration, come down to the waterfront and celebrate with cultural performances, music, food vendors, and family-friendly activities set against scenic harbor views. Also, the Alhambra Lunar New Year Festival draws crowds with its lively street festival atmosphere, this year on February 28th, featuring performances, artisan vendors, and community celebrations.

And lastly, The Santa Ana Lunar New Year Celebration fills downtown with traditional dance performances, live entertainment, and festive food that celebrates Vietnamese Tết traditions, this year this event is on February 7th from 1 to 6 pm at Centennial Park.

4 – LA’s Best Festivals in February

Description:

One of the most spirited celebrations of the month is La Bachata Fest, on February 12–15 in Universal City. This four-day fiesta of rhythm and movement brings together dancers and instructors for immersive bachata and salsa workshops, nightly social dancing, performances, and community-building events that fill the Sheraton Universal with energy and passion.

If your festival vibe leans more toward electronic beats and creative expression, Skyline Fest is one of LA’s most talked-about cultural events of the season. Set for Saturday, February 28 and Sunday, March 1,  at Ace – Mission Studios in the Arts District.  Skyline blends underground dance music, street art, digital installations, and live performances across multiple stages.

With an immersive atmosphere that’s both dynamic and visually striking, this two-day celebration offers festival-goers a chance to dive into LA’s thriving music and art scene with world-class DJs, art activations, food, and after-parties.

5 – Special Events

Description:

February brings a mix of cultural, artistic, and interactive experiences that appeal to locals and visitors alike. For fans of gaming and outdoor adventure, Pokémon GO Tour: Los Angeles returns to the iconic Rose Bowl Stadium on Saturday, February 21, offering a day full of special raids, exclusive Pokémon encounters, and community challenges.

Trainers from all over gather to explore the vast playing field, connect with fellow Pokémon enthusiasts, and snap fun photos around the historic stadium – making it one of the most unique outdoor events of the month.

Art lovers have two major showcases to look forward to in February. Frieze Los Angeles, held at Santa Monica Airport on February 13 – 15,  is a world – renowned contemporary art fair that draws collectors, artists, and creatives from around the globe. With installations, performances, and exhibitions from leading galleries, Frieze transforms a LA favorite into a dynamic hub for modern art and cultural conversation. Just a short drive inland, 

The Other Art Fair LA runs from February 27 – March 1,and it features over 100  independent artists curated by Saatchi Art. This fair gives visitors the chance to meet artists directly, discover original works across mediums, and bring home unique pieces with personal meaning.
