April 2024 Events in Los Angeles You Don’t Want to Miss

 

Hello LA Hackers! In this post we are happy to share with you a lineup of events that promise to make this month of April 2024 fun and entertaining.

April in Los Angeles is packed with activities as Spring is in full swing and you will find great family friendly activities filled with creativity, fun games and great food. Also, get ready to explore sensational exhibits and brilliant creations that will give you plenty of material for your social media feeds.  Enjoy everyone!


1 – Best Fests in LA in April

Description:

Mark your calendars for the 16th annual Los Angeles Beer Festival, taking place on Saturday, April 6th at LA Center Studios.  Expect a fun event featuring more than 200 delicious brews from over 80 vendors, food trucks, and lively entertainment, all against the backdrop of the vibrant downtown Los Angeles skyline.

Love pizza? Get ready to celebrate your favorite food at the 2nd annual Pizza City Fest, coming back to Los Angeles on April 27th and 28tth at LA Live.  Here you get a chance to savor great slices from a stellar lineup of Southern California’s best pizza makers in one location.  Also, during the event you will witness the artistry of pizza-making firsthand as renowned pizzaiolos showcase their skills and share their secrets.

Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is back for its 2024 edition, on April 12th to 14th and April 19th to 21st in Indio.  This year’s headliners are a captivating mix of established stars and genre-bending artists including Lana Del Rey.  The festival is also renowned for its stunning art installations, interactive experiences, and vibrant fashion scene.  This year’s Coachella has an entertainment menu that promises to satisfy all festival goers.

Other fantastic festivals this month include the picturesque Skull and Roses Fest at the Ventura County Fairgrounds on April 19th to 21st.  Paleyfest LA brings your favorite stars from your favorite TV shows to the Dolby theater on April 12th to 20th. 

Attend a Cherry Blossom Fest, choose from Monterrey Park on April 27th and 28th, or West Covina on April 13th.  Also this month is the Festival of Books on April 20th and 21st at the USC campus.

Plenty to choose from for anyone who enjoys large gatherings so we hope you pick your favorite and have a great time at one of these amazing festivals.

2 – Family Friendly Events in LA in April

Description:

Come celebrate the 10th Annual Bob Baker Day at Los Angeles State Historic Park.   This free festival is a fantastic way to honor the theater’s founder, Bob Baker, and experience the magic of marionettes.

 The heart and soul of the Bob Baker Marionette Theater, puppet shows will be throughout the day, showcasing the theater’s beloved characters and hilarious performances.  Also expect a fun day with games, food trucks, and kid’s talent shows.  

The 10th Annual Bob Baker Day is a free event, but an RSVP is required. Also you can contribute a suggested donation of $20 to help this great event come back every year.  Come to LA State park on April 21st and celebrate the magic of puppetry, support a Los Angeles treasure, and have a fantastic day with your family and friends!

Another great – fun for all – activity to experience this month is the Butterfly Pavilion at the Natural History Museum.  This immersive exhibit offers a chance to walk among hundreds of vibrantly colored butterflies, all flitting freely through a lush, indoor habitat.  From the electric blue of the Morpho butterfly to the striking stripes of the Zebra Swallowtail, there’s a dazzling diversity to admire.

3 – Best Theme Parks Events in April

Description:

Disneyland invites all its fans to the return of Pixar Fest, a celebration of friendship and all things Pixar.  From April 26th to August 4th, the entire resort will be transformed with colorful decor, delicious themed treats, and exclusive merchandise. 

Guests can experience a brand new daytime parade at Disney California Adventure Park called “Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration!” and a heartwarming return of the “Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular” at Disneyland Park, featuring even more beloved characters. This limited-time event is sure to be a magical adventure for the whole family.

California Adventure also invites all families to celebrate a gastronomic extravaganza featuring foods and beverages, cooking demonstrations and family-friendly entertainment inspired by the diverse cultures and cuisines of our beautiful state.  The California Adventure Food & Wine Fest that started in March is still on until April 22nd.

And for all Star Wars fans, the season of the Force begins at Disneyland Park on April 5th.  During this event the iconic Space Mountain gets a Star Wars makeover! Buckle up as your rocket sled hurtles through hyperspace, dodging TIE fighters and weaving past Star Destroyers in an epic battle between the Rebellion and the Empire. It’s a high-speed adventure you won’t want to miss.

But that is not all,  the fun experiences continue as April welcome Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite! It’s the ultimate Star Wars extravaganza at an after-hours party packed with galactic fun on select nights from April 16 through May 9, 2024 at Disneyland Park. Embark on adventures with fellow fans aboard Star Tours, and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. 

Enjoy fireworks above Disneyland park, with galactic music making it a truly unforgettable way to end your visit to a galaxy far, far away! And don’t forget the fun souvenirs, and theme food and beverages available only during this seasonal event. 

Our next nominee is of course the Knott’s Boysenberry Festival!  This annual celebration is a delicious ode to the little berry that started it all for Knott’s Berry Farm. From March 8th until April 28th, the park transforms into a haven for boysenberry enthusiasts. 

Come enjoy the super fun theme park and its glorious rides, plus a wide selection of boysenberry-infused treats, eats, and drinks. Take awesome pictures with all the boysenberry theme decor, and take part of the entertainment available just for the duration of this event.

4 – Celebrate April at the Rose Bowl

Description:

The highly anticipated Masters of Taste event is back for its 7th year, and this year it’s promising to be bigger and tastier than ever before. Mark your calendars for Sunday, April 7th, because you won’t want to miss this epicurean extravaganza on the legendary grounds of the Rose Bowl.

Masters of Taste  it’s a celebration of L.A.’s finest culinary scene. Stroll across the iconic Rose Bowl field and savor exquisite offerings from over 100 of the region’s most celebrated restaurants, beverage companies, and culinary masters. From innovative dishes by rising star chefs to decadent sweet treats and handcrafted beverages, there’s something to tantalize every taste bud.

What makes Masters of Taste even more special is its dedication to a great cause. Every ticket purchase directly benefits Union Station Homeless Services, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing vital services and housing for Los Angeles’ homeless population. 5 – April Best LA Exhibits

Description:

Our list of exhibits begins with a brilliant attraction that’s unlike anything you’ve ever seen before.  Luna Luna Forgotten Fantasy is in Los Angeles this spring season, and it promises its guests to experience the very first art amusement park that was rescued and restored from Germany and brought to LA.  Luna Luna: Forgotten Fantasy is located at 1601 E 6th St, Los Angeles, CA 90023.  Timed tickets are required for entry, so be sure to purchase yours online in advance.

Next is The Broad’s current exhibition,  “Desire, Knowledge, and Hope (with Smog),” this fantastic exhibit dives deep into the complexities of our iconic city through the works of Los Angeles-based artists.  Drawing its title from a John Baldessari piece, “Buildings=Guns=People: Desire, Knowledge, and Hope (with Smog)” (1985), the exhibition explores the tension between L.A.’s glamorous image and its real-life struggles. Enjoy Angelenos now until April 7th.

And one more fantastic event, The GRAMMY Museum in Los Angeles is paying homage to the culture that changed the world: hip-hop.  “Hip-Hop America: The Mixtape Exhibit” is a sprawling, 5,000-square-foot celebration of everything hip-hop, from its humble beginnings in the Bronx to its global domination today.  This immersive experience is packed with sights, sounds, and stories that will take you on a journey through hip-hop’s history as you also enjoy the other always on display exhibits celebrating music.
